Early Greens after a long winter
The spring CSA is special. All greens, radishes, and salad turnips are transplanted into an unheated high tunnel in early March. They are carefully managed through this cold season using layers of heavy row cover. In April, the first greens are ready to harvest. Because the spring CSA is so weather dependent, your weekly share will be chosen for you and space is limited. You’ll receive 4-5 items each week for six weeks.
What do I mean by greens?
Lettuce mix, arugula, mizuna mix, spinach.
Kale, baby bok choy, Tokyo bekana, little gem lettuce, broccoli rabe.
Other spring vegetables include early broccoli, green garlic, red radishes, and sweet white salad turnips.
